    Di Ethyl Ether, commonly called diethyl ether, is a highly volatile organic solvent used in selected laboratory chemistry activities. Its solvent properties make it relevant to practical exercises that introduce students to organic solvents and related experimental techniques.

    It can be used in suitable college and university teaching laboratories for supervised practical work where diethyl ether is specifically required. School use should only occur where the activity is appropriate, permitted, and directly supervised.
