Graduated cylinders are used to measure the volume of a liquid. They have a narrow cylindrical shape with markings along the cylinder to represent the measured amount of liquid.

It is considered as more accurate and precise for measurement purpose than flask and beakers.

Graduated pipette are made of plastic or glass, each providing different benefits. The graduated cylinders have a solid base or foot for stability and a spout to facilitate pouring out the contents.

As they are unsteady, some glass cylinders have a plastic ring installed to prevent accidental breakage if the cylinder falls over.
